
General Information: Rafael Suarez, Ray as he prefers, was born in Brooklyn, New York. Most recognized for his contributions as a NPR talk host on Talk of the Nation, Suarez is dedicated towards bettering his community and his country. He was also a common guest anchor on multiple networks including CNN, NBC, and PBS. He has won numerous rewards for journalism and continues to report on social, religious, racial, and economical issues across the world. Recently, he reported on the H1N1 virus in Mexico.
Family Background: Suarez is Puerto Rican and he and his family are very devout Episcopalians.
Pre College Education: Suarez attended the public
school, John Dewey High School, in Brooklyn, New York. As a youth,
Suarez dedicated much of his time to his community and excelled as
a boy scout achieving the rank of Eagle Scout before graduating
high school.
College Education:Attended New York University for
his undergraduate and University of Chicago for his Masters.
