College Education (Name of School, Graduation Year, Major): University of California Merced, 2012, United States History

Are you or your siblings the first in your family to attend college?: No

What are the biggest challenges you faced or are facing as a high school student? How did you overcome those obstacles?: One of the biggest challenge I faced in High School was finding acceptance among my peers. For the first half of high school I had my set of friends, yet I never felt fully accepted. It was not until the later part of my high school carrier that I gained the self confidence to truly feel accepted. Before you can gain acceptance by others, you must first accept yourself. It was through this processes that I felt more comfortable in my own skin and over came the challenge of being accepted by my peers.

What are your educational goals? What are you doing to reach those goals?: My goal is to graduate with a bachelor's degree within a years time. After that I want to continue on with my education gaining either a masters in education or history with the ultimate goal of being a high school vice principal.

What advice would you give others to be successful in high school and college?: To be a successful college student you must truly apply yourself to your full potential. If you always do your best, you will succeed. The freedoms that come with being a college student many times work against students, making it hard to succeed. By applying yourself academically, socially, and personally to your fullest potential you will succeed greatly.
