High School Education (Name of School, Graduation Year): Piedmont Hills High School, 2009

College Education (Name of School, Graduation Year, Major): Santa Clara University, 2013, Liberal Studies

Are you or your siblings the first in your family to attend college?: No

What are the biggest challenges you faced or are facing as a high school student? How did you overcome those obstacles?: My biggest challenge throughout high school was trying to find a balance between working and school, especially in my junior and senior years. As a junior and senior I was taking about 3-4 advance placement courses and juggling an intensive work schedule. With tests, papers, projects, not too mention SATs and applying for colleges it was a difficult two years.

What are your educational goals? What are you doing to reach those goals?: I hope someday to get a Ph.D in education or administration. I hope to one day open a autism center to provide support families and students of autism. To reach these goals I'm taking an accelerated program for a BA and Credential from SCU and will be applying to Loyola and Stanford for graduate school within the next two years.

What advice would you give others to be successful in high school and college?: Don't stress the small stuff and try to find a healthy balance between school and your personal life. It's important to enjoy simply reading a book or exercising rather than staring at books for hours on end. You'll learn more when you are well rested and feeling good.
