Profile Information

What kind of member are you?
Expert
High School Education (Name of School, Graduation Year)
Santa Clara University, 2006, Political Science
Are you or your siblings the first in your family to attend college?
No
What are the biggest challenges you faced or are facing as a high school student? How did you overcome those obstacles?
The greatest challenge I had in high school was adapting to a new school, a new country, and speaking a different language than my own. I moved to San Jose with my family when I was 16 and right away started Junior year. It was probably one of the most difficult experiences of my life. The first few months were terrible, but little by little I began to adapt to my new environment. I was very fortunate to have been welcomed by students and faculty of my high school. Though I only spent 2 years in high school, I really had a great experience for which I am grateful.
What are your educational goals? What are you doing to reach those goals?
At this point, I wish to attain a post graduate degree connected to education. I am debating whether to seek a masters in counseling, administration, or bilingual education.
What advice would you give others to be successful in high school and college?
1. Work hard and stay focused in school.
2. Have a good relationship with your teachers and mentors.
3. Get involved in activities outside of the classroom. Sports, cultural clubs,
service organizations, etc.
4. Sleep!
5. Do not procrastinate, it can become a nasty habit.
6. Get an internship.
7. Attend school dances, sport and cultural events, and other activities.
Enjoy high school and college!
8. Study for the SATs, ACTs, GREs, and all other required standardized
testing.
9. Join study groups. If organized properly, they are quite effective.
10. Meet with your advisor/counselor often. Ask lots of questions, they are
there to help you.
Who has helped you to achieve success throughout your school career?
My parents have been a great inspiration and I wouldn't have reached the place I am now without them. I had many teachers and mentors along the way that believed in me and provided advice, encouragement, and support.
What are your interests and hobbies? What do you like to do for fun? (Select all that apply)
History, Reading, Sleeping, Sports, Traveling

Hey Carlos!

I want to say thanks for being a great member of Zoomz. We really appreciate your dedication!

Wanted to see if I can get your help on something. We created a survey to get feedback on the community and was hoping you could take 10 min to take it. If you complete it, we will enter you in a drawing for a $25 iTunes card.

Here it is:

Thank you!

This tricks do help. The way I remeber things is write things down on a calender by my door that way when I walk out I will see it. I also use my phone because you could add reminders to make sure you dont forget.
