What kind of member are you?: High School Student

High School Education (Name of School, Graduation Year): Santee Education Complex High

Are you or your siblings the first in your family to attend college?: Yes

What are the biggest challenges you faced or are facing as a high school student? How did you overcome those obstacles?: The biggest challenge i face is not being a legal resident of the U.S. I have practically been living in California my entire life. I am looking for ways to overcome it but i haven't quite found out how.

What are your educational goals? What are you doing to reach those goals?: I want to major something in Performing arts, or film. My goal is to double major or triple major. I am contacting people i met at the Hispanic Youth Symposium that were affiliated with colleges.

What advice would you give others to be successful in high school and college?: Stay strong, specially if you come from a neighborhood like mine. I live in South Central Los Angeles, people here are not really goal oriented and don't always give the best advice. You as a individual has to stay strong and learn to make friends outside of the box. It is not an easy task, but it is possible. Just make sure ou never give up, and stop being lazy.
