High School Education (Name of School, Graduation Year): University of California Santa Cruz, 2011, Economics/Environmental Studies

Are you or your siblings the first in your family to attend college?: Yes

What are the biggest challenges you faced or are facing as a high school student? How did you overcome those obstacles?: Entering a new high school, and making new friends. I got out of my comfort zone and tried new things.

What are your educational goals? What are you doing to reach those goals?: My educational goals are to learn in and out side the classroom. I am currently interning with the Asian American Pacific Islander Resource Center and it has introduced me to a greater community at UCSC.

What advice would you give others to be successful in high school and college?: When entering college, take a VARIETY of classes. Even if you believe that you are not interested, take it because college is about expanding your horizons. Also don't set your mind to only one major, open yourself to different possibilities.
