- What are the biggest challenges you faced or are facing as a high school student? How did you overcome those obstacles?
- One of the biggest challenges was being one of the few African Americans at my school, i had to work harder than everyone just to be considered, their also were many people not supportive of my success. I overcame by just trusting in God and knowing that he has a plan.
- What are your educational goals? What are you doing to reach those goals?
- I want to graduate from Hampton University with my B.A in English Arts, i plan to come back to California and get my masters in ethnic literature and PhD in education. I want to get my cosmotology license while im studying to get my degrees. After graduating I want to teach English to middle school and high school students, mentor foster youth, students whose parents are/were on drugs while also doing hair/ make up , i want to reach out to the children that American forgets about.
- What advice would you give others to be successful in high school and college?
- Stay on track, do not let your situation, people around you or money determine your success. You have to believe in yourself and be your own motivation. We only get one life, make the best of it and do what you want to do the whole way through it, never take no for an answer. Lastly, know that it is okay to mess up, just get up and try again.
- Who has helped you to achieve success throughout your school career?
- My auntie Vida is my blessings, God and Jesus continue to work miracles in my life while helping me to succeed.
