Mackenzie replied to Lewis's discussion 'What good music are you listening to?'
This week my go-to album is Miike Snow's debut, Miike Snow. They're an indie pop band, good stuff! Here's one of my favorites, "Silvia": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZO1nMuZSnI

I'm definitely a list maker myself as well! I also believe in taking breaks for things like eating a good healthy meal (brain food!), talking with friends, and exercising (or going for a walk if I don't have a ton of time). But like you…

Great tips here, everyone. I agree with Pardis and Jose - study groups were key for me in math and science classes! I had a great study group for Calculus my senior year of high school. We would all get together before tests and rework problems and…

What happens now?

As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I was one of the few people in my group of friends who didn't know exactly what I wanted to do after graduation. I finished off the year relaxed, knowing that I would find a job, and had a ton of fun in the last few weeks my friends and I lived together.I reached out to my connections - family friends who are recruiters, friends who worked at companies I was…See More

How I stopped worrying and enjoyed the end of my senior year in college!

Posted on November 14, 2010 at 8:15pm 0 Comments

My senior year of college was a complete blur, between balancing a full courseload (I declared my major late), working 1-2 days a week, family commitments, and hanging out with my boyfriend and friends. I was so incredibly busy, but you know what? I had the. best. time. ever.

One of the biggest stressors that arises senior year is trying to figure out what you're going to do after graduation. It's hard when all of your friends are nailing down their post-grad plans and you still have… Continue

Mackenzie's Introduction

Posted on October 15, 2010 at 12:30pm 0 Comments

Hi everyone!

Well, if you've spent time on Zoomz you've probably seen me around... I'm Mackenzie, and I'm one of the main webmasters here at Zoomz.

I grew up in Los Altos, and went to Los Altos High. High school was such a busy time for me, between rigorous classes, playing water polo, swimming on the swim team, and joining the newspaper staff as a writer and then editor. I was pretty quiet and studious, especially at… Continue

A favorite college memory

Posted on February 25, 2010 at 7:00pm 0 Comments

One of the best things about my college experience was the interesting, smart, like-minded people I met at Stanford. I was lucky enough to find a really great group of girlfriends near the end of my freshman year - we ended up living together (and spending most of our time together) for the rest of our time in college. Two of my friends still live together!

During our senior year we decided we hadn't been fully taking advantage of all of the unique traditions and interesting… Continue

It's going well! I'm definitely in the right place. I love the discussions and the moral conundrums posed at every turn. That's not to say it is always easy and enjoyable, but overall, I love it.

How's everything going with Ning? I'm keeping an eye on Zoomz. It has shaped up nicely!
