I am or was in the following academic program:: MESA

High School Education (Name of School, Graduation Year): Downtown College Prep, 2007

College Education (Name of School, Graduation Year, Major): Sonoma State University. 2012, Spanish/ Chican@ Latino Studies

Are you or your siblings the first in your family to attend college?: Yes

What are the biggest challenges you faced or are facing as a high school student? How did you overcome those obstacles?: Well the struggle I faced in H.S. was language barrier. Being bilingual and getting both of the languages mixed up.

What are your educational goals? What are you doing to reach those goals?: Im currently at Sonoma State, graduating in spring 2012. Im also currently a student teacher, and so far my college experience has been great, opening new doors in which I can experience things that enable my skills for the future career path I decide to take.

What advice would you give others to be successful in high school and college?: Anything is possible, you can accomplish what ever you want in life. No matter what you do, put your heart into it and use your resources there available for anyone and do not be afraid to ask questions.
