What kind of member are you?: College Grad

High School Education (Name of School, Graduation Year): Santa Clara University

Are you or your siblings the first in your family to attend college?: No

What are the biggest challenges you faced or are facing as a high school student? How did you overcome those obstacles?: The biggest challenges I had to overcome were issues with self-esteem and confidence. I overcame these issues simply by surrounding myself with good, supportive friends and growing to love myself for who I am. I realized that a positive attitude is the most important way to achieve this.

What are your educational goals? What are you doing to reach those goals?: I plan to graduate in June 2010 with a B.A. in Spanish and B.S. in Political Science. I also plan to attend graduate school within the next few years. I have found that good organizational skills and time management are the most effective ways for me to reach these goals.

What advice would you give others to be successful in high school and college?: The best advice I could give a high school or college student would be to (1) always stay positive; see the glass half full and realize that you are capable of anything; (2) keep a daily planner that will allow you to stay on task and log 2-3 small, daily goals to be achieved by the end of the day; and (3) surround yourself with positive, fun friends that lighten your mood and make you laugh.
