- What are the biggest challenges you faced or are facing as a high school student? How did you overcome those obstacles?
- My biggest challenge I think was to stay motivated, especially in Junior year. I was always wanting to go hang out with my friends and putting off my homework. It was really hard to concentrate on school. It was also hard to imagine myself going to college. I just sort of pushed through, and tried to remember that getting good grades is ALWAYS worth the effort. If I got a good grade on something because I stayed in instead of hanging out with friends one night, I never regretted staying in, and that's what helps to motivate me still!
- What are your educational goals? What are you doing to reach those goals?
- My educational goals are to do well at my grad school next year. I want to excel and have more reasons to be proud of myself. Then I want to become a teacher and help other kids feel proud of themselves!
- What advice would you give others to be successful in high school and college?
- Do the best you can, and then go to sleep. Sleep is so important. All-nighters might work sometimes, but ultimately you need a rested mind to tackle classes and tests. It's not going to help if you keep falling asleep in class. Also, don't be afraid to ask for help! You aren't expected to do this on your own, and most people really want to help out.
- Who has helped you to achieve success throughout your school career?
- My family, mostly. They are always proud of me when I do well and always support me during stressful times/situations.
