One really good way to make classes fun is to pick great teachers that fit your style. There are lots of professors that do a good job of teaching their subject, but some may have a style that fits better with you than others. History, for example, always seemed boring to me because it was presented as a bunch of names and dates. But in college I found a History professor with a great sense of humor who presented his lectures like a stand-up comedy routine. During his lectures he would talk about an important event and then somehow relate it to a funny experience he had in life. Not only was I entertained, but the teacher found ways to make the material easier for us to understand.
Since you’ll have the advantage of picking your own classes, you should use it to make college the best experience possible. They way I usually choose my classes is by looking up the professor’s ratings on www.ratemyprofessor.com. You can’t rely on all of the comments people give about their teachers all the time, but look for comments that say things like “I learned a lot from this teacher,” or “Interesting lectures, loved going to class every day.” These are usually clues that the teacher is enthusiastic about the subject, and hopefully it will rub off on you as well. Sometimes a great teacher can make a very difficult subject seem a lot easier, so keep an eye out for them.

I know several people who took a class with one professor, failed it, and took it with another professor and loved it. Especially in general classes; if you don't like the professor, and another professor that you love may teach it later, take the favorite. It really does make a world of difference.
One way I pick classes with professors is what my friends have said about the class before. If they loved it, I considered taking it. Sometimes I didn't like the professor, but I've also been saved from taking classes with horrible professors this way.
